Zoom Whitening Overview
You may enjoy coffee, tea, tomatoes, berries, or tobacco products, but these are some of the most common sources of enamel stains and discoloration. Fortunately, Contemporary Dentistry has a great solution if you'd like to turn up the wattage on your smile with Philips Zoom whitening treatments at our office in Gilbert, AZ. One of the top choices for in-office teeth whitening, dentist Dr. Kathy Jacobsen is proud to offer both Philips Zoom QuickPro and WhiteSpeed. Based on your needs, time available, and budget, Dr. Jacobsen will help you choose the Zoom whitening treatment that's best for you. To boost or maintain your Zoom in-office treatment, Dr. Jacobsen also offers Zoom take-home treatments.
Best Candidates for Zoom Whitening
Your Zoom whitening treatment at our office will be selected and customized to deliver your best results. For fast improvements, Zoom QuickPro works best on stains on the enamel's surface from food, drinks, and tobacco. Zoom WhiteSpeed can also treat surface stains, but it also addresses discoloration from aging and some medications. During your consultation, Dr. Jacobsen will assess the condition of your teeth and help you decide which treatment is best for your needs and goals. You may also consider take-home whitening treatments: Zoom NiteWhite or DayWhite. The Zoom home treatment can be used either alone or after your in-office Zoom treatment to boost and maintain your results.
What To Expect from Zoom Whitening
Whether you are receiving Zoom QuickPro or WhiteSpeed, you should schedule your whitening treatment to follow a professional cleaning at our office. This will remove plaque and tartar so the treatment can be evenly applied to your enamel. Once your teeth are cleaned and dried, your mouth and gums will be protected before the whitening process begins. For Zoom QuickPro, each tooth is coated with a layer of whitening varnish followed by a protective sealant. Once every tooth has been treated, you will be allowed to leave. Thirty minutes later, you will be able to brush your teeth to remove the varnish.
For Zoom WhiteSpeed, a layer of whitening gel will be applied to each tooth. Once the teeth are coated, a special light will accelerate the whitening process. This will be repeated three times for a total treatment time of about 45 minutes. Excess gel will be removed from the teeth before a post-treatment gel is applied to minimize sensitivity and strengthen your enamel.
Follow-Up for Zoom Whitening
Dr. Jacobsen will give you more specific instructions on how to care for your teeth after whichever Zoom treatment you have. The best way to maintain your results is to establish a good home oral care routine with daily brushing, flossing, and mouthwash. Professional cleanings at Contemporary Dentistry will also help to polish your enamel and keep your teeth healthy. You should avoid staining food, beverages, and tobacco if you want your smile to remain bright. You can refresh your results with Zoom home whitening treatments and if needed, get another in-office treatment.
Insurance Coverage for Zoom Whitening
Zoom teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure so it is usually not covered by dental insurance. During your consultation with Dr. Kathy Jacobsen, she will go over your options and help you select the treatment that fits both your whitening goals and budget. Dr. Jacobsen can also explain payment methods and medical financing through our Smiles Club to help make your treatment affordable.
