Porcelain Veneers Reviews
"I have gotten my teeth cleaned twice, whitened once, an she put in two veneers for me. I have gone two multiple dentists for years. Never really liked any of them for one reason or another. Kathy and her crew have great personalities, they are easy to talk with. They get you in and out quickly. I am super impressed with their punctuality, my appt yesterday was at 4:20 and she was cleaning my teeth at 4:20! That's rare... I don't know if I am comfortable with my veneers that she put in, she said if i want to, she will redo them for free. That's HUGE! I think i will stick with this one for a while. I was referred to her by my mother and I feel 100% confident referring anyone to her."- C.D. / Yelp / Jun 15, 2012

Best Candidates for Porcelain Veneers
Veneers can be used to quickly improve the appearance of your smile by covering chips and stains on your enamel, misaligned or worn down teeth, as well as teeth that are abnormally shaped or spaced. At our office, your veneers will be custom made to fit comfortably over your teeth and look attractive, but still natural. During your consultation, Dr. Jacobsen will listen to your goals and expectations so she can customize your treatment. Dr. Jacobsen will also check to see if you are a good candidate for veneers by assessing your overall oral health. You should not have signs of gum disease or habitually clench your jaw and grind your teeth (bruxism).
What To Expect with Porcelain Veneers
Once you have developed your unique treatment plan with Dr. Jacobsen, she will take digital or physical impressions of your teeth. Your veneers may be made in our office while you wait with CEREC technology or the impressions can be sent to a dental laboratory where your custom veneers will be crafted out of high-quality porcelain material. When your veneers are ready, Dr. Jacobsen will carefully remove a small amount of enamel from the front of your teeth. This both creates space for the veneers and improves the bond for results that look more natural and last a long time. Once your veneers are bonded, Dr. Jacobsen may make minor adjustments so your veneers fit comfortably.
Recovery with Porcelain Veneers
Since the placement of veneers typically does not require anesthesia, you should be able to resume your daily activities after your appointment. You may have some sensitivity to hot and cold foods for a few days, but this should subside naturally. Your veneers should be cleaned like your natural teeth with daily brushing and flossing. While porcelain veneers are more resistant to stains than your natural enamel, you should still avoid staining food and drinks to keep your smile bright. To avoid damaging your veneers, you should not chew on hard objects, such as ice or your fingernails. Continue to schedule dental exams and cleanings at Contemporary Dentistry so we can monitor the condition of your veneers, natural teeth, and overall oral health. Dr. Jacobsen will let you know if your veneers need to be repaired or replaced.
Insurance Coverage for Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are a cosmetic procedure, so they are typically not covered by dental insurance. Our office does accept many payment methods, including medical financing to help make your treatment easier to afford and monthly membership payments through our Smiles Club. During your consultation, Dr. Jacobsen will customize your treatment plan to fit your goals and budget. She will go over an estimate of your treatment and explain your payment options.
