GLO Science professional teeth whitening can be performed both as an in-office procedure and at home. This technology combines heat and light to activate the whitening gel for effective results. As an in-office procedure, patients will undergo a 45-minute treatment in which the whitening gel and light treatment mouthpiece will be applied to the teeth. For at-home teeth whitening, patients will receive a kit of both the gel and mouthpiece, as well as instructions on how to administer the treatment. At Contemporary Dentistry in Gilbert, AZ, Dr. Kathy Jacobsen is proud to offer GLO Science whitening treatments for her patients in order to enhance and brighten their smiles. A good candidate for GLO Science is anyone looking to restore and whiten their smile. It is also a good option for individuals with sensitive teeth and it is safe to use on crowns, caps, bonding, and veneers. Prior to treatment, Dr. Jacobsen will evaluate your smile and your overall dental health in order to determine the most effective whitening treatment for your specific needs and desires.
What to Expect
During the in-office treatment, Dr. Jacobsen will begin by applying whitening gel to your teeth. She will then insert the lip and cheek retractor before applying a barrier gel onto your gums. The light will then be administered and then the GLO Science mouthpiece will be placed over your teeth. Dr. Jacobsen will evaluate the amount of time needed for the light treatment and will remove the mouthpiece at the appropriate time. Patients can use the at-home kit using the same process to maintain the results of their in-office treatment. Dr. Jacobsen will be able to answer any questions the patient may have about administering the at-home treatment.
Most often patients should be able to notice the results of their treatment immediately. GLO Science can help teeth become up to five shades whiter from one office treatment. Typically, patients should not experience significant or any sensitivity, but they should consult with Dr. Jacobsen if they do. With the addition of the at-home treatments, patients should be able to maintain their enhanced smile.
Cosmetic dental procedures, such as teeth whitening, are not typically covered by dental insurance. However, prior to your treatment, we will contact your insurance provider to evaluate any additional costs. Our office also offers financial planning and monthly membership plans through our Smiles Club program.
