The simpler and better you can articulate the &#8220;what&#8221;, &#8220;why,&#8221; and &#8220;how&#8221; of stains, the more the patient will trust your ability to provide a treatment plan and follow through with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The difficult aspect to understand about tooth discolouration is that it often involves many variables, such as lifestyle, age, medication doses, and, in some cases, the patient&#8217;s genetics over an extended period of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this article, we will discuss the five primary reasons for stained teeth that you will most likely encounter and will also discuss the potential reasons for their appearance in clinical practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Everyday Foods &amp; Drinks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you ask patients what they think stains their teeth, many will immediately say coffee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And, in fact, they would not be incorrect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Foods &amp; drinks that are darkly pigmented contribute most to tooth staining.
